The author of this play is Oscar Palacios. Director: Miguel Carrillo, Performance by: the Elenco Theater Company. Although this performance is in Spanish, it touches on a nearly universal subject: the relationship between a grandfather and his grandson. It highlights family values and the fact that “Family comes first.” The Elenco Theater Company is the National Theater Company of Mexico and this play has already traveled an international circuit.

Movie: The Ballad of The Little Soldier
(Germany 1984 ) In the spring of 1984, Herzog travels to the border between Nicaragua and Honduras, near the river Coco, photographer and journalist Denis Reichle, to tell the story of an army of child soldiers who have given up children to prepare for only war. For several weeks following the training of the Miskito Indians. Allied first with the Sandinistas to overthrow Somoza, now rebel against the Sandinista government and are trained by a former member of the Somoza National Guard.

VII “El Invencible” Regional Break Dance Contest
This annual event has grown to the point at whch it now brings together urban dance contestants, both individuals and groups, from all areas of Mexico. They compete in individual and collective choreography and creativity. Finals in three categories, including Hip Hop Choreography, will be taking place this afternoon.

Red Dress Run
Merida joins the ranks of clubs around the world who partake in the "sartorial" Red Dress Run -- for fun and for a good cause! Check out the photos from last week RDR in New Orleans for some fashion tips, and some fashion boo-boos! The run donations will go to two local charities: the elderly home in Santiago and Evolución Animal Shelter.
It also would be appreciated if folks can bring canned goods or dry foods. They will collect these and deliver them to the Santiago home, where they are really appreciative of any donations.

Former Final Fantasy VII hero Cloud Strife goes to rescue the children while suffering from the same disease.

Ligia Camara School of Music Opens Today!
Yucatan lost this jazz, blues and trova icon not long ago, but she will forever be part of the musical heart of the people of the entire state and far beyond. This school is going to be wonderful, especially with the quality of the teaching staff. Can you imagine being taught by the likes of Fernando Leal, Aaron Cu Fernandez or Edwin Schirp Magana?
