Exhibition: Winners of the 2013 Funds for the Visual Arts April 15 – No end date listed
The winners of support offered by the Ayuntamiento de Merida present the results of their projects. The winners include Yoochel Kaaj, Cine Video Cultura, A.C., Igor Solís, Mina Bárcenas y Paloma Menéndez.

Exposition: Habanerorama
This is an exhibition of the works of Samuel Barrera, a local artist with a very distinct style. Samuel's view of the world is fresh and clear, and his work is easily recognizable. Everyone can find something to love about this man’s work. Started March 28.

Call for Participating Artists April until May 15
This call is for visual artists, both Yucateco and foreigners, who live in Merida to submit work to the International Festival of Contemporary Art in Apilles Province, France. The festival itself will not take place until July 4 – August 31, 2014, but it is time to collect and judge the works submitted. These works can be paintings, sculptures, graphics, photography, video-art and installations that are in harmony with the work of Goya. Submissions should be sent, in digital form, to convocatoria.apart2014@gmail.com, along with a CV, and proof of one individual and two collective exhibitions.

Invitation: Opening of the Exhibition: Oaxaca en Nahualli May 8 to 24
This exhibition is an amazing collection of prints from Oaxaca. They will be showing more than 400 pieces of art this month.
May 8: In collaboration with the Merida English Library, the La Artesa collection will be shown. This event will include a wine tasting.
Time: 7:00 PM
Admission: $300 pesos
May 9: More collections will be opened and your invitation includes a delicious tasting of 7 kinds of Oaxacan moles. This is a special event that requires a reservation because space is limited. However, this night is well worth attending because you will be able to participate in a raffle of a beautiful print by one of the most important Masters from Oaxaca. After this day, the Oaxacan prints will be available in the Nahualli Gallery for view and/or purchase.

(Mexico 2003) The movie seems to follow the principles of magic realism. Schwietert, the director, loves Gabriel García Márquez. But this movie is about reality. Magic reality, yes, but reality, in fact. Around the Caribbean and Colombia, things that might look weird actually happen there. The accordion, vallenato and the Caribbean style of life is very well told in this documentary combined with poetry and a touch of loneliness.

The last symphony of the Spring Season is always one of the best events in Merida for the year. For tonight’s performance, the Concert Director is Juan Carlos Lomonaco and the Scene Director is Horacio Almada. Rossini’s Cinderela, tonight, features: Gabriela Thierry, Oscar de la Torre, Josue Ceron, Sergio Meneses, Claudia Rodriguez, Irasema Terrazas, and Emilio Carsi. If you love opera, great music, and performances by an ensemble that cannot be matched anywhere, this is the concert to see!

XXVII Marathon of the Marina 2014: June 8
This marathon has grown to be one of the largest in Yucatan. The prize pool this year is more than $500,000 pesos, and includes two compact cars, two motorcycles, and trips to the Riviera Maya. The marathon will be a total distance of 42.195 km and the half-marathon will be 21 km. Registration: May 5 to June 6.
Location: Begins at the Monumento a la Patria on Paseo de Montejo. Ends at the Malecon in Progreso.
Time: Marathon will begin at 5:00 AM
