Cuba is the guest country to the International Festival of Maya Culture (FICMaya) 2015 to be held in various locations in the Mexican state of Yucatan from October 16 to 25, it was announced here this weekend. This fourth edition also has Quintana Roo, Yucatan adjoining, as guest state.
There will be coloquiums, round tables and academic panels where various issues will be discussed among specialists from countries such as Mexico, Cuba, United States, Slovenia, Argentina, Australia, Russia and Holland.
The event will have the theme "Science in time, the landscape and architecture of the Mayab '.
According to reports, on behalf of Cuba, its Deputy Culture Minister, Fernando Rojas said the participation of the island is a sign of brotherhood between the Mexican and Cuban peoples, especially that of Yucatan.
In addition, the following will also participate: Pablo Milanes, Los Van Van, La Colmenita, Aragon Orchestra, Eliades Ochoa, Havana Compass Dance, the National Folkloric Ballet, the trio Ambassadors and the Theater of the Seasons, as part of the musical dance and stage performance of Cuba.
