MACAY
A documentary film about Salvador Elizondo, whose most famous book was titled Farabeuf. You can read more about him here. This will be only the second screening of this documentary in all of Mexico. It will explore the meaning of the book and its importance to Mexico. Paulina Lavista, director of the documentary and widow of writer Salvador Elizondo, is a photographer, filmmaker and researcher. Throughout her photographic career she has testified to the artistic, cultural and intellectual life of Mexico, forming a collection of about one hundred thousand negatives in black and white as well as 40,000 transparencies and color negatives photographic archive. She has portrayed artists such as Francisco Toledo, Octavio Paz, Juan Jose Gurrola, Rufino Tamayo and Manuel Alvarez Bravo.She will be present at the MACAY for the screening and discussion afterwards.
