Please join us under the palapa at Casa Hamaca for the Valladolid English Library’s March, 2017 Presentation.

MaryAnn Anzelmo will discuss the architectural embellishments on the churches at Uayma and Kanxoc – how they may be related – what their European roots may be.

“My avid cyclist hubby (since 2012) Warren Barta and I are in Valladolid for an "expat apprenticeship". Biking through the countryside from Santa Eleuteria, we entered Uayma to face the southern facade of the church there which features the double-headed eagle. I immediately assumed it to be a form of the Habsburg crest. My interest was sparked – Was it the crest? And, how did it get here?”
